Who You Are

  • You can spot all the the design imperfections on this page and you're confident on how to fix it.
  • You have a good understanding of type, color and space, and can design exceptionally well for the web.
  • You understand that design is beyond just making things look pretty. You can come up with ideas and you care about usability.
  • You take pride in doing great work, and you care about the details (that is, you deliver pixel-perfect work).
  • You have a different, fresh and interesting perspective to share with us on designing marketing sites, applications, and usability.
  • You have done some great work and can send us links to your portfolio and sites you've done.
  • (Big Plus) You can chop up a Photoshop comp and turn it into something "live" with good, clean, standard-compliant XHTML and CSS.
  • You want to be part of a small, growing company that is making an impact on the workflow and efficiency of fellow designers and design studios.
  • You're authorized to work in the United States.

Sample of Things You Might Work On

We can't predict the future, so we'll just list out a few things that we did in the past few weeks (things that we'd much rather have you work on, because you're better than us), and things we would've done if you were here.

  • Re-designed the Harvest Careers section (took us about 14.03 non-billable hours).
  • Designed and tweaked and re-tweaked a new invoice layout.
  • Designed and finessed some UI elements and worked on a new layout for our internal tool, Kaizen.
  • Prepared slides for Hobby and designed the printed program.
  • Sketched out a few new icons for Harvest and Co-op.
