PayPal Payments Pro

You can integrate your PayPal Payments Pro account with Harvest so your clients can pay you online via the Web Invoice.

Integrating with Harvest

Activating

  1. Go to Invoices > Configure > Online Payment, and click Payment Gateway.
  2. Choose PayPal Payments Pro.
  3. Enter your API username, password, and signature, or upload your certificate file.

Deactivating

You can disable payments via PayPal Payments Pro if you’re no longer using the service.

  1. Go to Invoices > Configure > Online Payment, and click Payment Gateway.
  2. Choose PayPal Payments Pro.
  3. Click the Deactivate PayPal Payments Pro link at the bottom of the page and confirm.

Finding Your API Information and Certificate File

API Username, Password, and Signature

  1. Sign in to your PayPal account and go to My Account > Profile.
  2. Under Account Information, click Request API Credentials.
  3. Under Option 1, choose Set up PayPal API credentials and permissions.
  4. Next, click View API Signature under Option 2.
  5. From here, copy and paste your username, password, and signature in to Harvest.

Certificate File

If you’d prefer to upload a certificate file instead of using an API signature, you can:

  1. Sign in to your PayPal account and go to My Account > Profile.
  2. Under Hosted payment settings, click Website payment certificates.
  3. From here, click Download under PayPal Public Certificate. This will download your certificate to your computer.
  4. Save the file to your computer.
  5. Upload the file to Harvest. You’ll also need to enter your API username and password (directions above).

PayPal Payments Standard vs. Payments Pro

Choosing between PayPal Payments Standard and PayPal Payments Pro depends on the set up that is right for your business. Here are some key differences:

PayPal Payments Standard

PayPal Payments Pro

  • There is a monthly fee of $30 for Pro on top of PayPal’s transaction fees.
  • You need complete a credit application before using Pro.
  • Customers complete transactions right on your company’s website, or in the case of Harvest, from right within Harvest.
