Managing People
Edit your own profile via the My Profile link in the upper-right of your account. Administrators can view and edit other people’s profiles via Manage > People.
Projects
Via the Projects section, non-administrators can see to which projects they’re assigned, and administrators can manage other people’s projects.
How to Assign Projects
- Go to Manage > People, and click into a person’s profile. You’ll be dropped right into the Projects section.
- Search and select the projects you want to assign.
- To add someone to all projects, choose Select all options from the dropdown. This will automatically assign them to all future projects, but you can disable this option after you click Assign Projects.
- Click Assign Projects.
To remove someone from a project, simply click the X next to the project name. Removing someone from a project will not delete time they’ve tracked to that project.
Basic Info
From here, you can edit your personal details, or other’s details if you’re an administrator.
Uploading a Photo
Employee or contractor photos appear in the Staff report under Reports > Time and Reports > Project Status.
- Click My Profile (if you’re editing your own profile), or go to Manage > People and click into a person’s profile (if you’re an administrator).
- Under Photo, click Choose File, and upload a photo. We recommend that the photo size be 100 X 100 pixels.
- Click Save.
Archiving People
Administrators can archive a person from Basic Info. Once a user is archived, they will no longer be able to sign into the account. To archive a person:
- Go to Manage > People, and and click into a person’s profile.
- Click the Archive link in the bottom-right of Basic Info.
Once archive a person, they will be removed from all projects to which they are assigned. If a person is reactivated, you’ll need to add them back onto projects via the Projects section.
Deleting People
Administrators can delete a person if they delete all of their time and expense entries. Once all time entries are deleted, the Archive link in Basic Info will change to a Delete link.
Passwords
Changing Your Password
- Go to My Profile in the upper-right corner of your Harvest account.
- Click the Passwords tab.
- Enter a new password and confirm it.
- Your Harvest password must be at least 8 characters.
- Save your new password.
What Administrators See
Administrators cannot see anyone else’s password. However, administrators can send an email that will allow a person to reset their password.
