Managing Projects
Import, edit, archive, and duplicate projects from Manage > Projects.
Importing Projects
You can import projects from a CSV as long as the file is formatted correctly. To get project data into a CSV, organize your project data into a spreadsheet (using Excel, Numbers, Google Spreadsheet, etc.), and export it as a CSV file.
Organize the spreadsheet with the following 4 columns (in the same order):
- Client Name
- Project Name
- Project Code
- Project Notes
Note: The Client Name and Project Name cannot be blank.
You can also download a sample CSV file (right-click link).
Editing, Archiving, and Deleting Projects
Editing
You can edit projects under Manage > Projects by clicking Edit next to the project name.
Archiving
When you’re done tracking time to a project, you can archive it under Manage > Projects by clicking Archive next to that project. Manage archived projects from the Manage Archived Projects under Manage > Projects.
Deleting
You can delete a project if it does not have time tracked to it. To delete a project:
- Delete all time and expense entries associated with that project.
- Go to Manage > Projects, and click Edit next to the project name.
- You will see a link to delete the project. You can not retrieve this information once it is deleted.
Duplicating a Project
Duplicating a project is a good way to track monthly budgets or project phases. To duplicate a project:
- Go to Manage > Projects, and click the Duplicate button for that project. This will create an editable and exact copy (except for the project code) of that project.
- Make any changes you need to the project copy and Save.
