My widget is not working! Help!
We no longer support the Mac Widget. If you’d still like to track time from your desktop, we recommend upgrading to Harvest for Mac.
This document should help you troubleshoot common widget issues quickly so you can start tracking time.
Can’t Sign In or Connect
- In the URL field, make sure you’re entering only the first portion of your Harvest URL. It should be entered without https:// or .harvestapp.com.
- Your email & password must match exactly the email & password you use to access harvest. Capitalization is especially important for the password. If you’re copying and pasting these values, make sure you didn’t accidentally include a trailing space.
- If your account was created via Google Apps, you may need to create a Harvest-specific password (more info here).
Can’t Track Time
Is your timesheet or project locked? Sign in to your Harvest account via a web browser to find out. Locked time will appear with a small lock icon. How to Unlock a Timesheet
Projects or Tasks Are Missing
The Harvest widget should update on a regular basis (every few minutes). If you’re noticing slower updates, you can force the widget to manually update iself:
- On Windows Vista / 7: Click the plus icon in the lower left portion of the widget and then click cancel on the form. A reloading icon should appear briefly and content will be updated.
Widget Looks Funny
Windows users may see some brightly colored (usually purple) boxes on the widget after updating to Internet Explorer 9. If you’re seeing these boxes, you’ll need to remove the widget from the gadget gallery and then re-download from our website.
Windows Gives “Unspecified Error”
To install the Harvest Widget, you’ll need to have your Windows Sidebar enabled and running. The sidebar is installed and enabled by default — so it should only be missing if you’ve explicitly removed it. To bring it back, reverse the process for disabling (Windows Vista | Windows 7).
