In Season: The latest from Harvest, Summer 2026

Written by HARVEST | Jul 15, 2026 7:44:53 PM

In Season is our periodic update on what's new in Harvest, what's coming soon, and the ideas we're looking for your feedback on.

Harvest connects your time tracking with the invoices, payments, forecasts, and reports you rely on to run your business, all in one connected system. We're always improving that system, and that's why we're launching In Season, a new series where we'll share what’s new and what we’re working on next.

Many of our latest features started with ideas from the people who use Harvest. We’d love your feedback on what we should build next. Share your thoughts →

Harvest’s new look, released in May of 2026, will become the default for everyone over the coming weeks. If you haven't switched yet, now is a great time to get familiar with it. Watch this 7-minute video to learn how to navigate the new Harvest.

Just shipped

New ways to see, manage, and act on the data you capture in Harvest—with less manual work.

Alongside these major updates, we’ve continued shipping a steady stream of practical improvements inspired directly by your feedback. Recent additions include custom cost rates by project, default email recipients for invoices, improved calendar views, and much more, with new enhancements arriving week after week.

Build the report you need
Create custom reports that show exactly the data you need. Instead of starting from fixed report types, you can build the view you want in just a few clicks. Group, filter, and preview your data as you build, then save reports to reuse later. And yes, the 100-row limit on time-entry reports is officially gone. Learn more about custom reports →

Work with your Harvest data in connected AI tools
Connect Harvest to AI tools like Claude, Cursor, and ChatGPT through our new Harvest MCP (Model Context Protocol). Once connected, you can work directly with your Harvest data in the tools and agents you already use. Log and review time, run reports, check budgets, draft invoices, and more, all within your existing AI workflows. Learn how the MCP works and how to set it up →

Save time by making changes in bulk
Need to update rates, move teams to new projects, archive a batch of clients, or edit dozens of invoices? Bulk actions let you make the change once, preview exactly what will happen, and apply it to every selected record in a single step. Learn more →

Automatically lock timesheets
Automatically lock timesheets and expenses on a schedule so finalized records stay accurate and no one can make changes after the reporting period ends. Set the lock time around your timesheet deadline or choose a custom cutoff. Learn more →

Organize teammates by department
Assign teammates to departments, then use those departments to filter reports and keep your team organized. Learn more →

Coming soon

More ways to manage your team, connect the tools you use, and get work done in Harvest—all these updates are on their way to you in the coming weeks!

Harvest AI
We’re bringing AI directly into Harvest, so you can ask questions about your projects, time, expenses, and invoices in plain language, then take action without clicking through menus. Log time, draft invoices, update records, and get answers in seconds all while staying in control. Harvest AI can only access the data and actions available to your profile’s role.
Coming to all accounts soon. Learn more →

Request and approve PTO
Paid time off will soon be supported in Harvest, from setting company-wide holidays to approving individual PTO requests, so time off can be reflected accurately in all your timesheets and reports. Tell us what you'd want from PTO →

Expense reimbursement within Harvest
You can already mark an expense as reimbursable when someone pays for a business expense out of pocket. Soon, you’ll be able to reimburse employees directly through Harvest. Learn more →

Gusto integration
Keep your team in sync across Harvest and Gusto so headcount, pay rates, and seat invitations stay up to date without manual reconciliation when someone joins, leaves, or changes roles. We’re starting with team invites and exporting approved hours, with more to come. Tell us what you'd want from the Gusto integration →

More flexible invoice templates, dark mode for better focus, and a new notification center are also on the way.
