Essential Elements of a Czech Republic Purchase Order
A compliant purchase order (PO) in the Czech Republic must clearly identify all parties and the transaction details to be legally sound. For businesses, the VAT ID (DIČ) is a critical identifier, typically starting with "CZ" followed by 8 digits, based on the company's registration number (IČO). Individual taxpayers use "CZ" followed by 10 digits, based on their birth number, though a 9-digit format also exists. Each purchase order should also feature a unique order number for effective tracking and reference throughout the procurement process. Beyond these, the PO must include a precise description of the goods or services being purchased and the agreed-upon purchase price or a clear method for its determination. These elements form the bedrock of a legally binding agreement once accepted by the seller.
