Key Features for Compliant Invoice Printing in Ukraine
For businesses operating in Ukraine, compliant invoice printing primarily means adhering to electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) regulations. Since 2015, it has been mandatory for VAT-registered businesses with an annual revenue exceeding UAH 1 million to submit sales and services invoice data electronically to the tax authority's Unified Register of Tax Invoices (URTI). Key features for any compliant solution include generating invoices in the XML format, which is Ukraine's national standard for tax compliance. Additionally, all electronic invoices must be digitally signed with a qualified electronic signature to ensure authenticity and security. Integration with the URTI is crucial for real-time VAT reporting, as invoices must be submitted and validated there before being sent to recipients. Customization options should allow for the inclusion of all legally required details such as invoice date, unique taxpayer identification number (UTIN), recipient details, detailed product/service descriptions, VAT amounts, and applicable tax rates (e.g., 20%, 7%, 14%, 0%, Exempt, Reverse charge). The Standard Audit File for Tax (SAF-T UA), an XML-based format, is also becoming mandatory for all taxpayers from January 1, 2027, and is already required for large taxpayers.
