Key Features for Thai Invoice Compliance
To ensure legal adherence in Thailand, your invoice generator must support specific compliance requirements. The standard Value Added Tax (VAT) rate in Thailand is 7%, which applies to most goods and services. Businesses with an annual turnover exceeding 1.8 million Thai Baht (THB) are generally required to register for VAT and issue tax invoices.
Mandatory fields for a compliant Thai tax invoice include:
- The prominent wording "Tax Invoice".
- Name, address, and taxpayer identification number (TIN) of both the supplier and the purchaser.
- The date of issuance.
- A unique invoice serial number.
- Description, type, quantity, and value of goods or services.
- The amount of VAT charged, shown separately from the value of goods or services.
- The total amount payable in THB.
The generator should also allow for clear display of the head office or branch number if applicable.
