Harvest is a service of Iridesco, a New York City-based web software company with big ideas. Founded in 2003 by designers Danny Wen and Shawn Liu, Iridesco has its roots as a creative agency. In 2006, the company evolved from its consulting model into a software service provider with Harvest as its flagship offering.

Having gained valuable insight as a professional services firm enabled the team to design and build an application that works the way a busy small business expects it to: simple to use with powerful reporting. Today, Harvest serves the time tracking and billing needs of thousands of customers from around the world, from freelancers and budding agencies to Fortune 500 companies.

The Harvest Philosophy

Harvest design and development is guided by the following principles:

• Time entry your way. We want to give you the easiest method for you to enter your time. Whether that's all at once through the weekly interface or accrued through the daily interface, it's completely up to you.

• Don't get in the way. Small business people are busy. Create a system that is as easy to set up as it is to use. Be intuitive so there is minimal learning curve for all users. Everyone has more important things to get done than just track time.

• Be web-based. Make our application as easy as possible to set up. Don't require any downloads. Mac or PC, happily support both. Allow our users to access their information from anywhere via the Internet. And as we release upgrades, let our customers enjoy the benefits at no extra cost.

• Be visual. Our reports give you visual interpretations of your time, so you can easily compare numbers from project to project, week to week, or person to person.

• Help the small business community. We're a small business and know how difficult it is to get things off the ground when you're just starting out. That's why we created The New Founders Program to give away our tool for free to new small businesses so they have one less thing to worry about.
