Harvest welcome guide

This guide is for people who only use Harvest to track time. If you’re an administrator or project manager in Harvest—someone who will be managing projects or analyzing data—check out our Help Center.

Tracking time

Run a timer while you work
Enter all your time at once

Running a timer while you work—and changing it every time you switch tasks—might seem like a pain, but many people actually find it easier once they get into the habit.

Your time will be more accurate, since you’re tracking it in the moment instead of trying to remember what you did, and you can leave a note about each thing you work on. Plus it saves you from having to worry about your timesheets at the end of the week.

To start a timer, head to the Time section and click the green New Entry button.

Timesheet approval

Your team might be using a feature called timesheet approval. That means everyone’s timesheet must be approved by an admin or project manager.

If that’s the case, you’ll have to submit your timesheets each week by clicking the Submit for Approval button. Just note that once someone approves it, your timesheet will be locked.
