Welcome to Expert Tips, a new series written by Harvest Experts, our very own illustrious customer support team. We’ll be sharing some of our favorite tips, tricks, and you-wish-you’d-known-about-it-sooner best practices. Click “Expert Tips” at the top of this post to see what we’ve already shared, and subscribe to the blog below so you never miss a new one!
We’re proud to offer great, fast support here at Harvest. During our business hours, you’re likely to hear back from us on the same day, often within just a few hours.
But we’re not lightning-fast robots (as much as my fourth-grade Halloween costume would suggest otherwise) or open around the clock, and sometimes you just want an answer right away. Or maybe you’d like some reference material to pass on to new team members.
That’s where our always-available documentation comes in! Our Help Center and other resources are always there for you, no matter what time of day or night, with information you can easily share with your team.
I first want to point you to the Harvest Help Center (which you can access by clicking Help at the top right of any page in your Harvest account) and highlight a few sections that might be of particular interest.
- The Getting Started guide can be especially helpful for new Administrators who want to understand how they can use Harvest to achieve their goals.
- On the other end of the permissions spectrum, Members can find what they need—without irrelevant information overwhelming them—in the Member Resources.
- Browse or search through the rest of the Help Center to find more details on different sections of Harvest, account settings, apps and integrations, Harvest ID (our sign-in tool), and more.
You don’t always have to go to the Help Center, though—it can come to you! On any page in your Harvest account, click the question mark at the bottom right and type in a question. The bot will suggest articles that match your question, and you can click through to read more. And keep an eye on that space—we’re working on making it even more helpful!
If you or someone on your team is building your own integration with Harvest or looking to extract data to build your own reports elsewhere, check out our robust API documentation to read about how authentication works and which endpoints are available, with sample requests and responses.
Focus on Forecast
The Forecast Help Center is packed full of information about Forecast, our planning tool. You can access it by clicking Help at the top right of any page in your account, then browse or search through it to learn about the different views, assignments, and all the other features. If you want to use Harvest and Forecast together, the Harvest and Forecast section has all the details about how the connection works.
Finally, if your organization is just starting to explore the idea of time tracking and how it could improve the way you work, take a look at our more general resources, with articles on everything from how to get your team started with time tracking to how to keep projects profitable.
Do you have a question that can’t be answered by any of these resources? Or do you have some ideas about how we can make them even better? Write to us, and we’ll get back to you as fast as we can—even if that’s not quite as fast as our help bot!
